‘Help us find him and bring him home’; Search underway as Jackson Steed’s family appeals for assistance

Nov 4, 2026 | 12:23 PM

KAMLOOPS — Jackson Steed was last seen on Monday (Nov. 2), driving eastbound along Barnhartvale Road. His family has not heard from him since and are worried for his safety, appealing to the Kamloops community to keep an eye out for Jackson and his red Jeep Comanche truck.

Jackson’s friend Aedan Skinner is helping organize the search efforts, with upwards of 100 volunteers and family friends pitching in.

“We are focusing on… an hour’s berth from Barnhartvale. We are hitting that hard today and we are especially hitting the Robbins Range area, the southeast quadrant of Kamloops especially hard because he knew that area well and that was also his last known location,” said Skinner.

It was said Jackson was most comfortable on those backroads, but is also a big snowboarder and had talked about heading to Alberta.

“We’ve extended pamphlets, information through the Salmon Arm, Revelstoke, Golden corridor up to Lake Louise. He had talked about going snowboarding in Lake Louise this weekend, it’s a passion of his,” said Jackson’s father, Neill Steed. “Again, I think the key to this is that vehicle. It’s very distinct and somebody has got to see it.”

Prior to Monday, the family said Jackson had made a point of getting some cash, saying he was intent on going somewhere.

“This isn’t something that has happened in the past. Jackson is in a vulnerable state right now – we are afraid for his safety, we are afraid for him, and we just want everybody out there to help us find him and bring him home,” Jackson’s mom, Heidi Steed, told CFJC News.

Anybody planning to recreate in the coming days is asked to keep an eye out.

“He loves the outdoors, he loves fishing, he loves snowboarding, he loves cool little areas in and around – four-by-fouring in Kamloops,” added Skinner. “That is kind of a good starting point that he does know the area in and around Kamloops well. He loves fishing, so these little lakes that people might be up driving around right now might be a good shot.”

Anybody with information is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP.

“He left without any plan in place and he just left,” said Heidi. “This is why [a missing persons alert] was put out so quickly. It is out of character for him to just take off. And we are pleading with you, if anybody sees him. We just love him so much.”
