CANDIDATE CHECK-IN: Dhaliwal excited by engagement with two weeks until vote

KAMLOOPS — Only two weeks remain ahead of civic voting day on October 17, when Kamloops voters will elect a mayor and eight councilors.

Ray Dhaliwal is no stranger to the campaign trail, having run previously for council and mayor here in Kamloops. He noted there haven’t been a lot of surprises when it comes to the issues relayed by voters.

“Pretty well the main ones. Everybody seems to be in the same boat – affordability,” said Dhaliwal. “The biggest thing I found I’m campaigning on is to bring stability back into city council. Together, we can grow stronger, but when it’s divided like it is right now, we can see what’s happening with our council now. The staff is on edge, council is on edge. Let them do their jobs properly.”
