BIABC wants provincial election campaign to focus on issues facing small business
KAMLOOPS — As British Columbians prepare for an early provincial election next month, the Business Improvement Areas of BC (BIABC) organization wants the campaign to include a serious discussion about the challenges facing small businesses, employees and commercial districts across the province.
BIABC wants to see practical commitments from all provincial parties on public safety, repeat offenders and street disorder, as well as on the rising cost of doing business, and other policies that affect the ability of small businesses to survive and grow.
“We have spent the last number of years lobbying the provincial government very hard on the cumulative impacts of economics, taxes, PST expansion… community safety and indeed just the general aspect of doing business in British Columbia,” BIABC president Jeremy Heighton told CFJC Today.
