Kamloops Centre MLA Milobar rejoins BC Conservatives

KAMLOOPS — On the same day Premier David Eby called a snap election in British Columbia, Kamloops Centre MLA Peter Milobar has returned to the BC Conservatives.
Milobar resigned from the BC Conservative caucus on August 14, citing a loss of confidence in the leadership of Kerry-Lynne Findlay, saying their values do not align.
The veteran Kamloops politician went on to form a new party, drawing in several former BC Conservative colleagues. However, last week, as election talk reached a fever pitch, the new party merged with CentreBC, and Milobar was named leader.
That changed on Tuesday (Sept. 22) as Milobar rejoined the BC Conservatives, along with other now-former CentreBC MLAs. The fledgling party says it was not kept in the loop as those plans were not discussed with the CentreBC Executive Council.
