Blazers conclude pre-season without losing in regulation, defeat Cougars 4-3

Andrew Thomson led the Blazers in scoring with one goal and five points in five games during the pre-season. The 19-year-old center is returning for his fourth WHL season in Kamloops. He scored four goals and 13 points in 50 games during the 2025-26 season.

Kaeden Tate spotted a 0.951 save percentage (SV%) and 1.06 goals against average (GAA) in three pre-season games with the Blazers. The 16-year-old from California went 2-0 in his first two WHL regular season games in 2025-26 with a 0.919 SV% and 2.51 GAA. Logan Edmonstone, returning for his third full season with the Blazers, had a 0.872 SV% and 3.19 GAA in three pre-season games. The 18-year-old had a 0.902 SV% and 3.14 GAA in 49 games played with Kamloops in 2025-26. 

The Blazers have 27 players remaining on their roster – 16 forwards, nine defencemen and two goaltenders – ahead of the regular season. That includes three 20-year-old players in forwards Cooper Moore and Gavin Nemis and defenceman Carson Olsen. 

“We do have a bunch of guys… banged up, so we want to make sure we get a read on where those guys are at, and we don’t let guys go too early. Make sure we’re healthy enough to get through the week and get ready for game number one of the regular season.” 

The Blazers welcome the Victoria Royals to Sandman Centre Saturday, Sept. 19, at 6:00 p.m. for their home opener.
