LILLOOET B.C. — Residents near the Riley Creek wildfire south of Lillooet can breathe a sigh of relief as fire activity dies down and local governments begin lifting evacuation alerts.
As of 10:00 a.m. on Monday (Aug. 31), the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD), Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) and the District of Lillooet (DL) have given the ‘all clear’ to properties near the Riley Creek wildfire.
The SLRD has lifted the alert on about 100 properties, while the TNRD had approximately 16 properties declared ‘all clear’ in Electoral Area “I” (Blue Sky Country).
