Kamloops showed up, Stankoven delivered on dream day with Stanley Cup
KAMLOOPS – Logan Stankoven pulled up to the edge of Riverside Park and into the fray of stardom, emerging from his vehicle with the Stanley Cup and to a welcome he will never forget.
A wall of children – about three rows deep – lined a block or so of Lorne Street sidewalk on Sunday [Aug. 16], the kids contagious with Stankoven Fever, hollering, holding signs and blowing horns while the local hero paraded past them and toward the park bandshell.
Through the mob he pushed, arriving on stage to find a crowd of about 7,000 – and the realization of a childhood dream.
