Clinton residents confront devastation as Pear Lake Wildfire recovery begins
CLINTON B.C. — After weeks of dread and anticipation, Clinton residents are getting a breath of fresh air in returning home. Though, some to properties left standing and others to almost nothing.
The evacuation order for the Village of Clinton was downgraded to an alert at 8 A.M. Saturday (Aug. 15), before Highway 97 was opened over the lunch hour — allowing residents to see firsthand what the Pear Lake wildfire left behind.
For Clinton resident and business owner, Steve Larabie, returning home meant getting to work — but not on his own property just yet.
