Stankoven hoping for great turnout at Stanley Cup celebration in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS – Logan Stankoven felt the love from his hometown from a distance while his Carolina Hurricanes ripped through the NHL post-season and won the Stanley Cup.
He plans to say thanks in person on Sunday [Aug. 16] at Riverside Park, with thousands likely to be in attendance for a Cup celebration event at the Rotary bandshell.
“I think it’ll be great just to see everyone and say hi and hopefully get lots of photos,” Stankoven said. “That’s what it’s all about – sharing it with the people who care about you most and who have helped you along the way.”
The City of Kamloops is co-ordinating the event, with help from the Kamloops Blazers, Tourism Kamloops, Downtown Kamloops, the Kamloops and District Chamber of Commerce and Kamloops Sports Council.
