Summit Connector to be repaved next week; drivers told to expect delays

KAMLOOPS — Drivers who take the Summit Connector during their morning and afternoon commutes should expect delays next week. 

The City of Kamloops says rehabilitation work will take place on the West End route from Monday, Aug. 10 to Friday, Aug. 14. Throughout construction, the city says single-lane traffic will be in effect in the work zone while traffic control personnel and signage will be in place. 

In a news release issued Wednesday (Aug. 5), the city says work will include line painting, milling, paving and surface preparation along the right lane of Summer Drive from Mission Flats Road to the Guerin Creek Way intersection. Paving will also take place on the downhill hairpin section of Summit Drive.
