Water infrastructure work to impact eastbound traffic on McGill Road near TRU
KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops says there will be some disruptions to eastbound traffic on a section of McGill Road near Thompson Rivers University because of some water infrastructure work that got underway this week.
Both eastbound lanes of McGill Road between Dalhousie Drive and University Drive have been closed to traffic since Monday (July 20) to allow crews to work. The centre median has been temporarily removed to accommodate one lane of eastbound traffic, while a portion of the south sidewalk has also been closed.
There are no impacts to westbound traffic on McGill Road, which will continue flowing in its existing lanes.
“These upgrades are an important investment in our water system that will help support future growth and balance the system,” Matt Kachel, the city’s infrastructure delivery divisional manager, said in a statement.
