TNRD expands Clinton-area evacuation orders due to Pear Lake wildfire

“Some properties in this Evacuation Order area had been placed on evacuation alert on July 22, 2026 at 4:30 pm due to the Fiftynine Creek Wildfire,” the TNRD said. “That evacuation alert no longer applies to those properties, and all properties listed above are now on evacuation order.”

“If you are in the described area, you must leave immediately. A person must not enter the evacuation order area for purposes of residing, occupying, or visiting the area.”

The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) has its own evacuation orders and alerts in place due to the Pear Lake wildfire.

The BC Wildlife Service estimates the Pear Lake fire at approximately 32 square kilometres in size. it noted the lightning-caused fire was exhibiting Rank 4 fire behaviour along the east flank Thursday evening, meaning an organized flame front with intermittent crown fire and a fast rate of spread.

“Southwest winds are currently pushing fire growth east into the valley,” the BC Wildfire Service said. “The fire has grown into the Kelly Lakes area and tactical evacuations are underway.”

“Ground crews and structure protection resources are responding to this activity and will be working overnight.”

The Village of Clinton remains on evacuation alert, while other previously issued evacuation orders due to the Fiftynine Creek remain in effect. That fire, also believed to be have been sparked by lightning, is an estimated 167 square kilometres in size.
