Body of man who drowned in Mara Lake recovered
SICAMOUS, B.C. — The body of a man who drowned in Mara Lake near Sicamous has been located and recovered.
Sicamous RCMP announced the recovery Tuesday (July 14) in an update to a news release issued a day earlier.
Detachment commander Sgt. Murray McNeil says RCMP were first called to the lake Friday evening when the man’s absence was reported by a group of friends with whom he had been spending time.
Local members were joined by the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team (URT), with support from the RCMP National Underwater Recovery Training Centre in searching for the man over the weekend.
