Blazers make 10 selections in WHL Prospects Draft; Kamloops local taken by Lethbridge
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers finished the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft with 10 new prospects, including six forwards, three defencemen and a goaltender.
The Blazers took Edmonton center Micah Montgomery with the eighth overall pick in the first round Wednesday (May 6).
Kamloops started a lengthy second day Thursday by selecting Mason Auger 30th overall in the second round. The 2011-born defenceman from Minnesota scored nine goals and 72 points in 47 games with East Grand Forks Bantam AA team in the U-15 level and four goals and 20 points in 18 games with the Blue Ox AAA team in the Minnesota Highschool Performance program at the U-14 level.
