Amazon is discussing a potential reboot of The Apprentice reality series with Donald Trump Jr. suggested internally as host, according to The Wall Street Journal. The talks remain preliminary and the show is not in active development. In fact, Trump Jr. said he only learned of the idea yesterday. An Amazon rep then confirmed “preliminary internal discussions about what’s next for The Apprentice as a property” but called reporting on hosts “purely speculative.” Donald Trump hosted the original show for 14 seasons from 2004 to 2015 on NBC. Amazon co-owns rights with Trump Productions after acquiring MGM, which purchased Mark Burnett Productions in 2014. The show still generates six-figure annual income for Trump through royalties between $100,000 and $1,000,000 in 2024, according to his financial disclosures.
