Taylor Swift tops the 2026 American Music Awards with eight nominations, extending her record-breaking dominance at the ceremony where she already holds 40 career wins. Four artists tie for second place with seven nominations each: Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Dean, Sombr, and Morgan Wallen. Lady Gaga and Alex Warren follow with six nods apiece. Swift’s nominations include artist of the year, best female pop artist, and album of the year for The Life of a Showgirl. Her song “The Fate Of Ophelia” competes for song of the year, best pop song, and best music video, while “Elizabeth Taylor” vies for song of the summer. The 52nd annual telecast airs May 25th from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on CBS, with Queen Latifah hosting.
