Pepsi Withdraws From UK Wireless Festival Over Kanye West Booking Category Icon
Pepsi has pulled its sponsorship of London’s Wireless Festival following the controversial booking of Kanye West. The beverage company served as headline sponsor for several years. A Pepsi spokesperson confirmed the decision without providing specific reasons, though it followed West’s booking announcement. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer also criticized the festival’s choice, telling The Sun it was “deeply concerning that Kanye West has been booked to perform at Wireless despite his previous antisemitic remarks and celebration of Nazism.” West faces widespread condemnation for antisemitic statements, including releasing a song titled “Heil Hitler” and selling swastika-emblazoned merchandise. He apologized for his antisemitic history in a Wall Street Journal advertisement earlier this year, but hasn’t discussed it since.
