KAMLOOPS — RCMP are renewing their plea to the public for information regarding the murder of a Sa-Hali Secondary School student, four years later.

On Jan. 29, 2022, at around 8:00 a.m., the body of 18-year-old Jagraj Dhinsa was found with obvious injuries at a parking lot off Chilcotin Road on the Tk’emlups Reserve.

Following an autopsy, the BC Coroners Service and investigators confirmed Dhinsa was the victim of a homicide. His name was released to help further the investigation.

Evidence at the scene linked Dhinsa to a black 2014 Honda Accord found on Dallas Drive near Lafarge Road.

“This homicide was a senseless act of violence and the investigation remains a priority for the Southeast District Major Crime Unit (SED MCU).  It is important to the police, the administration of justice and for the public at large that the person or persons responsible for this death be held accountable,” S/Sgt. Jason Smart, SED MCU Unit Commander, states in a news release issued Thursday (Jan. 29). “Solving this homicide is also of critical importance for Mr. Dhinsa’s family to have closure.”

Anyone with information about Dhinsa’s death, had dealings with him or knows of his activities or whereabouts in January 2022 is asked to contact the SED MCU information line at 1-877-987-8477
