SINGAPORE — Kamloops swimmer Sienna Angove and the rest of Team Canada finished in sixth place in the women’s 4x200m freestyle relay at the world swimming championships in Singapore.

The team of Angove, Brooklyn Douthwright, Ella Cosgrove and Ella Jansen finished with a time of 7:52.52, about 13 seconds behind the Australian team which took home gold with a time of 7:39.35.

The United States (7:40.01) and China (7:42.99) took home silver and bronze respectively.

The 18-year-old Angove swam the second leg of the relay, and she was in the water for 1:57.986.

The Kamloopsian was also part of the 4x100m freestyle relay team, though the Canadian women did not qualify for the final. Angove was initially a reserve on the 4×100 freestyle relay team, but competed after Penny Oleksiak withdrew from the meet due to being in a whereabouts case with World Aquatics.

Both Angove and Cosgrove were making their swimming worlds debut in Singapore.
