KAMLOOPS — Scott Clark will continue on as head coach of the Thompson Rivers University (TRU) WolfPack women’s basketball team for the 2025-26 Canada West season.

Clark took over from Todd Warnick in December after the latter went on a personal leave. Prior to that, Clark had been head coach of the TRU men’s basketball team for 13 seasons, though he stepped down after the 2022-23 season to serve as the WolfPack’s Manager of High Performance Sport.

“Scott brings a wealth of experience, a deep understanding of the game, and a strong commitment to developing student-athletes,” TRU Athletics Director Curtis Atkinson said, in a statement.

“We are excited to see him continue the work he started with our women’s basketball program this past season.”

Clark will be joined by former TRU men’s basketball player Joe Davis, who will serve as an associate head coach. Davis, a Kamloops native, played for the WolfPack between 2014 and 2020, and holds the men’s program record with 1,154 U SPORTS points.

Davis was named a Canada West Second Team All-Star in 2019-20, and spent one-and-a-half years as an assistant coach with Clark on the TRU men’s team after graduating, before embarking on a pro career with stops in Australia and Malta.

“I cannot overstate how much the Kamloops and TRU community mean to me. I’m grateful for the support and guidance the community has provided me over the years. I’m a product of this community and want to contribute and give back as much as possible,” Davis said, in a statement.

“I’ve been learning from Coach Clark for over 10 years, and I am still learning from him. I feel both thankful and lucky to work closely with such a great leader.”

Both Clark and Atkinson said they’re looking forward to working with Davis, who also served as the Director of Coaching for the Pakenham Warriors basketball club while in Australia.

“Having Joe join our program is a great chance for the student-athletes to continue to grow and learn both on and off the court,” Clark said.

“His energy, insight, and passion for the sport will be a tremendous asset to our program,” added Atkinson. “We know our student-athletes will benefit from his basketball experience.”

The WolfPack women have had three head coaches and two interim head coaches since 2018-19, and they’ve posted a record of 17-101 during that period. They’ve won just six games over the past four Canada West seasons going back to 2021-22.

“We are confident that Scott and Joe will provide the leadership required to guide our athletes to success on and off the court,” Atkinson added.

The WolfPack will release more details about the 2025-26 Canada West regular season schedule in June.
