Body removed from Schubert Drive riverbank as major crimes investigation continues

KAMLOOPS — A body was removed from a taped-off stretch of riverbank near Overlanders Park in Kamloops Tuesday (Oct. 13) morning, but no identities have been publicly released just yet as investigators continue to comb through the area.

Several police vehicles were still on scene when CFJC Today stopped by around 10:45 a.m., and there were three investigators in white protective suits along with a few uniformed police officers. They were appearing to focus on one of three tents that were still inside the area that was taped off.

Witnesses on social media reported a large police presence near Overlanders Beach and the Henry Grube Education Centre on Sunday night. More police officers – both uniformed and plainclothes – arrived Monday morning.

CFJC has reached out to Kamloops RCMP for more details and will update this story when more information is known.
