Kamloops Fall Food Drive brings in 46,000 pounds of food

KAMLOOPS — While this year’s fall Rotary food did not break records, the Kamloops Food Bank said they are grateful for those who donated to stocking their shelves.

The Kamloops Food Bank said in a social media post that the drive brought in 46,000 pounds of food and $1,600 in monetary donations.

The fall food drive typically brings in around 60,000 pounds of food, with last year’s bringing in a record-breaking 75,000 pounds.

The donations of non-perishable items are used over the winter to feed the roughly 10,000 clients who rely on the Kamloops Food Bank, as well as 53 agencies in the area that provide meals and eight smaller regional food banks.
