Village of Clinton lifts final evacuation alert linked to Pear Lake fire
CLINTON, B.C. — The Village of Clinton has lifted the final evacuation alert linked to the Pear Lake fire, but it still warns of possible risks in the future.
EOC Director Brian Doddridge said the alert covered around 60 to 70 properties on the northern end of the village. It had been in place since Aug. 15, the day Clinton residents were allowed to return home, after three weeks away.
The alert was officially lifted Wednesday (Sept. 23) evening, but Doddridge said village officials are still urging caution due to the threat of flooding in the Clinton Creek watershed.
