Kamloops MPs Caputo, Arnold gearing up for upcoming fall session after summer break
KAMLOOPS — It’s back to Ottawa for the two Kamloops members of parliament as the fall session of the House of Commons gets underway on Monday (Sept. 21).
After a summer break that last 13 weeks, both Frank Caputo and Mel Arnold say they’re taking a list of local priorities with them to Ottawa. Things like affordability, housing, as well as crime and public safety all expected to be discussed, but the deteriorating relationship between Canada and the United States is likely to dominate proceedings early on.
“I want to see how I can contribute to an approach that puts Canada first, and more concretely, puts the people of Kamloops-Thompson-Nicola first,” Caputo said. “What can we do to exert our economic sovereignty and how should we respond?”
