France and Saudi Arabia have signed a memorandum of understanding for a $7 billion Saudi investment to build three theme parks near Paris. The agreement was signed during Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s two-day visit to France. The parks will be built near Cergy-Pontoise, roughly 30 kilometres northwest of Paris. One park is expected to be manga-themed, inspired by a “shared passion” for Dragon Ball Z between Macron and the Crown Prince. The parks are projected to create 22,000 direct jobs. Construction will happen in stages, with no opening date confirmed. President Macron called it an “unprecedented announcement” and a “new global destination.”
