Canada Post resumes mail delivery in Clinton

Aug 20, 2026 | 1:14 PM

CLINTON, B.C. — Canada Post has resumed mail and parcel delivery services in Clinton on Thursday, but there may still be some interruptions or delays.

Canada Post has not delivered mail to the Village since it was evacuated on July 24 due to the massive Pear Lake wildfire.

With residents now returning under an evacuation alert, Canada Post said it will resume mail delivery to the community.

Canada Post said Clinton has been downgraded to a yellow alert, which means there is no guarantee mail will be delivered on time.

“Wildfires and poor air quality are affecting mail and parcel delivery in parts of British Columbia,” said Canada Post officials.

“A yellow service alert means we are going to do our best to deliver, but there may be delays. Delivery will resume once conditions improve and it’s safe to do so.”

Free mail forwarding is still available in Clinton, Boston Bar and 70 Mile House until September 24, which can be accessed on Canada Post’s website.

Canada Post downgraded Clinton and Summerland to a yellow alert on Thursday (Aug. 20).

Other communities in B.C.’s interior also remain on the same alert level, including 70 Mile House, Penticton, Kelowna and Vernon.

You can check Canada Post’s website for up-to-date delivery service alerts.
