New dates set for Sun Peaks country music festival after wildfire smoke postponement

SUN PEAKS, B.C. — The inaugural country music festival in Sun Peaks that was postponed due to wildfire smoke is set to get back on the saddle next month. 

Tourism Sun Peaks says the Heartland Country Festival will take place at Sun Peaks Centre Stage on Friday, Sept. 4, and Saturday, Sept. 5. 

The Washboard Union and Doc Walker will perform on Friday while Tyler Joe Miller and Dawson Gray will perform on Saturday. George Canyon, who was set to headline the second day of the festival, is no longer advertised. 

Orange-level air quality alerts across the Kamloops area prevented the Heartland Country Festival from taking place on Aug. 7 and 8.
