Poor air quality in Kamloops area behind multiple outdoor event cancellations
SUN PEAKS, B.C. — Poor air quality from wildfire smoke billowing across southern B.C. is leading to multiple cancellations and rescheduling of outdoor events around the region.
One such event affected by Orange-Level air quality alerts is the Heartland Country Festival in Sun Peaks, which organizers said will be postponed from the originally scheduled August 7 to 8 dates.
No alternate dates have been announced yet.
“We are working to reschedule the festival and will share the new dates as soon as arrangements are finalized,” said event organizers.
