‘They represent the very best of Mexico’: second batch of wildfire fighters arrive in B.C.
KAMLOOPS — Reinforcements are here – and even more are on the way by the plane-load – as B.C. continues to navigate what’s been a challenging fire season.
“We are welcoming resources from across Canada and around the world,” B.C. Forests Minister Ravi Parmar told CFJC Today.
Mexico has sent hundreds of firefighters to B.C. and the latest batch arrived at Abbotsford Airport Thursday (Aug. 6) with more expected by Sunday. Crews from the Yukon, Alberta and Quebec are already here and the Australians are also on the way as well to help bolster the frontlines.
