April and May of this year saw a 15.2 and 12.5 per cent increase in traffic over the same months in 2025, respectively, while June had a more modest increase in passengers.

“June saw the greatest adjustment to airline schedules, moderating passenger growth compared with the earlier months of the quarter,” said YKA.

“Despite these changes, June passenger volumes remained 4.3 per cent higher than the same month in 2025, demonstrating continued demand for air travel to and from Kamloops.”

YKA officials said passenger growth over the first half of the year is a welcomed sign for the airport and community partners.

“As in the first quarter, this continued growth reflects the strong alignment and long-term collaboration between Kamloops Airport Ltd., Vantage Group, our airline partners, tourism organizations, local governments, and regional stakeholders,” said YKA.

“Together, these partnerships continue to strengthen air service, support economic development, and position Kamloops and the Thompson-Okanagan for sustainable long-term growth.”
