Kamloops United FC wrap up 2026 BC Premier League season with results

KAMLOOPS — With two home matches in two days to close out the 2026 BC Premier League season, Kamloops United FC’s men’s and women’s teams were able to leave the Hillside Stadium pitch with their heads held high.

On Friday (July 3), Kamloops United FC’s men’s team knocked off the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy 1-0 thanks to a goal from Daniel Sagno in the 68th minute. Goalkeeper Toran Rutherford made a save in stoppage time to not only secure the win, but also the clean sheet.

On the women’s side, Kamloops United FC were blanked by Vancouver Rise FC Academy 3-0 on Friday. Rise won the BC Premier League on the women’s side, finishing the 2026 season with 13 wins and one loss, good for 39 points in 14 matches. Rise finished seven points ahead of second place Altitude FC.

However, the Kamloops women were able to end their season on a winning note on Saturday (July 4). Priya Dos Santos scored early in the 25th minute as Kamloops United FC earned their third win of the year in a 1-0 shutout of Nanaimo United FC.

While the Kamloops men were unable to pick up the win in their final match of the season, they did enough to earn a point. Sully Reaney scored in the second minute of stoppage time in the second half to give Kamloops United FC what looked to be the match-winning goal against Nanaimo.

Unfortunately for the Kamloops men, Nanaimo responded with an equalizer five minutes later. Kamloops settled for a 1-1 draw.

Kamloops United FC’s women’s team finished sixth in the 2026 BC Premier League table with three wins, two draws and nine losses, good for 11 points in 14 matches. The Kamloops women set team-highs in wins and points dating back to their inaugural season in 2022. It’s the first time the Kamloops women have finished above last overall in the League1 BC/BC Premier League table.

On the men’s side, Kamloops United FC finished seventh in the 2026 BC Premier League table with two wins, three draws and nine losses, good for nine points in 14 matches.

The BC Premier League campaign is over, but both Kamloops United FC teams have at least one more match this summer. The women will play a friendly with professional English side Nottingham Forest on Aug. 1 from Hillside Stadium as part of the Kamloops International Cup. The men will also play Cavalry FC’s U-21 squad on July 26.
