Kamloops International Cup to feature Nottingham Forest women’s first team

KAMLOOPS — For the first time in its brief history, the Kamloops International Cup will host a senior team from a professional soccer club.

Nottingham Forest women’s team, based in West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire, England, will arrive in Kamloops at the end of July to play a trio of matches and host a youth camp.

Nottingham Forest WFC finished seventh out of 12 clubs during the 2025-26 Women’s Super League 2 season. While they avoided relegation, they weren’t able to earn promotion to the top-level Women’s Super League. During its first season as a full-time professional soccer club, Nottingham posted a record of nine wins, three draws and 10 losses, good for 30 points in 22 matches.

Along with Nottingham Forest’s women’s first team, the third annual Kamloops International Cup will feature three other women’s clubs – the Vancouver Rise FC Academy, a BC Premier League Selects team and the hosts, Kamloops United FC.

The men’s tournament will feature Cavalry FC’s under-21 squad from Calgary, a BC Premier League Selects team and Kamloops United FC.

The full schedule at Hillside Stadium is as follows:

  • July 25 – Nottingham Forest v. Vancouver Rise
  • July 26 – Cavalry FC U-21 vs. Kamloops United FC men
  • July 28 – Nottingham Forest v. BC Premier League Selects women
  • July 29 – Cavalry FC U-21 v. BC Premier League Selects men
  • Aug. 1 – Nottingham Forest v. Kamloops United FC women

Nottingham Forest will host a pair of youth camps targeted towards girls on July 26 and July 29. Cavalry FC will host a youth camp targeted towards boys on July 27.

Last year’s Kamloops International Cup welcomed Arsenal’s under-21 women’s team and Nottingham Forest’s under-21 men’s team in 2025. The inaugural edition in 2024 featured Aston Villa’s under-21 women’s team and Fulham FC’s under-21 men’s team.
