Police officer in New Westminster, B.C., charged with breach of trust
NEW WESTMINSTER — A Metro Vancouver police officer has been charged with two counts of breach of trust as a result of an investigation stemming back to last year.
The BC Prosecution Service says Const. Hardeep Singh Purba is scheduled to appear in New Westminster provincial court on July 22.
Prosecutors say Purba is an officer with the New Westminster Police Department, and the alleged offences on May 4 and 7 last year were investigated by Abbotsford police.
In a separate statement, New Westminster police say they became aware of the allegations that month and immediately reported the case to the Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner.
