New detour taking effect as Tranquille Road sewer main project progresses
KAMLOOPS — People in Brocklehurst have a new detour to be mindful of as the Tranquille Road Sanitary Main and Road Enhancement Project moves further east.
The City of Kamloops says the construction zone will extend east just past Southill Street beginning Monday (June 8). It’s due to construction work within the Southill intersection and an increase in heavy truck traffic.
All non-local traffic and transit buses will now detour north on Desmond Street and west on Gellrich Avenue before continuing onto Southill Street. The city says the detour route change will likely be in place for the remainder of construction.
