Sabrina Carpenter has received a temporary restraining order against William Applegate, 31, who allegedly stalked her Los Angeles home for a month before attempting to break in. The order requires Applegate to stay 100 yards away from Carpenter and her residence until June 17th, when a full hearing will determine permanent protection. Court documents state Applegate began surveilling Carpenter’s home in April, with conduct escalating to a May 23 break-in attempt. Ring camera footage captured Applegate bypassing security fencing and trying to enter through her front door, claiming he knew the singer. Los Angeles Police arrested him on misdemeanor charges, but he returned twice more within two days. Carpenter’s petition described “disturbing violations” and called Applegate’s behavior a “dangerous, delusional and irrational fixation.”
