WILLIAMS LAKE B.C. — Infrastructure upgrades starting next week will disrupt residential traffic in Williams Lake until the end of July.

The City of Williams Lake said construction and excavation work will occur along Johnson Street from Gibbon Street to Western Avenue and Pigeon Avenue from Comer Street to Western Avenue.

Both roads will be down to single-lane traffic, with Johnson Street taking only southbound traffic and Pigeon Avenue taking only northbound only.

Work will begin on Tuesday (May 19) and continue until Friday, July 31, 2026.

“Residents and motorists should expect delays, detours, parking restrictions, temporary access interruptions and other impacts to vehicle and pedestrian traffic throughout the construction period,” said City officials.

“Please use caution in construction areas and obey all traffic control personnel, signs, and devices. We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation during these important infrastructure upgrades.”

Water services will be disrupted at times while work is underway, and the City said impacted residents will be notified ahead of any planned shutdowns.
