BC Wildfire Service pushing back against small fires around Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — The BC Wildfire Service says two of the four small spot wildfires in the area around Kamloops have been contained since sparking Wednesday (May 6).
One of the two fires near Harper Lake, southwest of Chase, is being held at 0.1 hectare. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
The other Harper Lake wildfire is still burning out of control at 0.5 hectares. The BCWS said this fire was likely caused by a lightning strike.
Meanwhile, the Upper Barlett Creek wildfire east of McLure, is under control at 0.009 hectares.
