Lizzo celebrated her 27th birthday April 27th by announcing her fifth studio album Bitch will release June 5th. She shared the album cover on Instagram featuring a hand with the middle finger replaced by her smiling photo, writing “Happy birthday to me! Wanna get me a gift? Pre-order my album baby!!!!” The record marks her first solo album in four years since 2022’s Special. Bitch replaces the previously announced Love in Real Life album from February 2025, whose singles faced criticism and chart struggles. Lizzo called those early tracks “overproduced” and “overthought” in a New York Magazine profile, explaining “By 2025, I’ve changed, the world has changed so much.” The new album takes its title from an unreleased song “Bitch” and includes previously released single “Don’t Make Me Love U” but excludes “Love in Real Life” and “Still Bad.”
