Barry Keoghan Says Online ‘Abuse Of How I Look’ Is ‘Becoming A Problem’
Barry Keoghan revealed in a new interview that relentless online criticism about his physical appearance has created debilitating anxiety, making him not want to leave his home. “There’s a lot of hate online. There’s a lot of abuse of how I look, and it’s kind of past the point of — you know, everyone goes through that… but it’s made me shy away,” the Saltburn actor explained. He emphasized the severity, stating “It’s becoming a problem” and admitting he avoids public places due to harassment. The actor expressed concern that his appearance-related anxieties might damage his career, saying: “When that starts leaking into your art, it becomes a problem, because then you don’t want to even be on screen anymore.” Keoghan also worries about his young son Brando eventually reading the hateful comments. The actor is currently working on Sam Mendes’ series of Beatles biopics, in which he plays Ringo. (Story URL)
