Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another led the 2026 Academy Awards with six wins including Best Picture, Director, Original Screenplay, and the first-ever Oscar for Casting. Sean Penn also won Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film (marking his third Oscar). Ryan Coogler’s Sinners also had a great night with four big victories, including Michael B. Jordan for Best Actor, Ludwig Goransson for Original Score, and writer/director Ryan Coogler for Best Original Screenplay. Autumn Durald Arkapaw also became the first woman to win Best Cinematography for Sinners. Jessie Buckley claimed Best Actress for Hamnet, while Amy Madigan took Best Supporting Actress for Weapons.
