Fox Orders ‘Family Guy’ Spinoff ‘Stewie’ With Two-Season Commitment
Fox has greenlit Stewie, a Family Guy spinoff series, with an unprecedented two-season order targeting a 2027-2028 premiere. The animated show follows Stewie Griffin after he’s kicked out of preschool and forced to attend a subpar replacement with unfamiliar classmates and a 75-year-old turtle. According to the official synopsis, Stewie transforms boring school days into “insane and surreal adventures” using his inventions to travel through space and time. Seth MacFarlane returns as Stewie’s voice and executive producer. “I’d like to thank Fox for this incredible opportunity, and I’m excited to start pretending I’m collaborating closely with them,” MacFarlane joked in a statement. The spinoff launches following Family Guy’s milestone 450th episode in February 2024.
