Arnold Schwarzenegger Returns As Conan In New Film From Christopher McQuarrie
Arnold Schwarzenegger will reprise his iconic role as Conan the Barbarian in King Conan, with Christopher McQuarrie attached to write and direct for 20th Century Studios. McQuarrie, who helmed the four most recent Mission: Impossible films, was announced for the project by Schwarzenegger at the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio. The story follows an older Conan who ruled as king for 40 years before being forced from his kingdom, leading to conflict involving “madness, violence, magic and creatures.” Schwarzenegger also revealed discussions about returning to the Predator franchise with Dan Trachtenberg and receiving a Commando 2 script. Hollywood has pursued bringing Schwarzenegger back to the Conan role for years, with Universal previously developing an age-appropriate story that never materialized.
