Paramount+ has ordered a new 2D-animated Garfield series starring Emmy-winning actor Lamorne Morris as the voice of the iconic orange cat. The show, produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studios, draws inspiration from Jim Davis’ original comic strip and showcases Garfield’s sarcastic, lazy personality. The project, which has spent 7 years in development, marks the first Garfield animated series since 2009’s The Garfield Show on Cartoon Network. Morris is best known from Saturday Night Live, his Emmy-winning role in Fargo, and his cat-loving character on New Girl. Another feature film with Chris Pratt as the voice of Garfield is also being planned.
