Shia LaBeouf Granted $100,000 Bail Following New Orleans Bar Fight
Shia LaBeouf received $100,000 bail on Thursday during a New Orleans hearing following his arrest for a Mardi Gras bar altercation. Judge Simone Levine charged him with two battery counts for fighting men who ejected him from R Bar in the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood. The incident occurred 15 minutes after midnight, with LaBeouf allegedly striking someone with closed fists before returning more aggressively. One alleged victim called it a hate crime due to homophobic slurs, though no additional charges were added. LaBeouf must remain in New Orleans and undergo drug and alcohol testing. The judge denied his request to travel to Rome for his father’s baptism. “Clearly you don’t take your alcohol problems seriously,” Levine said. “Please take charge.” LaBeouf has previously claimed sobriety, blaming his past behavior on alcoholism.
