HUNTR/X’s “Golden” From ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Receives Oscar Nomination For Best Original Song

On Thursday (January 22), the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the Best Original Song nominees for the 2026 Oscars ceremony airing March 15. HUNTR/X’s smash hit, “Golden,” from KPop Demon Hunters leads as the popular favorite after topping Billboard’s Hot 100 for 8 nonconsecutive weeks and earning double-platinum certification. The Netflix animated film’s song already won January’s Golden Globe in the same category. Diane Warren earned her 18th nomination since 1988 for “Dear Me” sung by Kesha from the documentary Diane Warren: Relentless. Other nominees include Raphael Saadiq and Ludwig Göransson‘s “I Lied to You” from Sinners, Nicholas Pike‘s “Sweet Dreams of Joy” from Viva Verdi!, and Nick Cave’s collaboration with The National’s Bryce Dessner, “Train Dreams,” from the film of the same name. Notable snubs include Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande’s songs from Wicked: For Good, Nine Inch Nails’ work in Tron: Eres, and Ed Sheeran’s “Drive” from F1 featuring Dave Grohl and John Mayer, which were all shortlisted in the category.
