KAMLOOPS — A former Kamloops Blazers goaltender is now a part of the Edmonton Oilers organization.

In a news release issued Wednesday (Oct. 1), the Oilers announced they’ve acquired Connor Ingram from the Utah Mammoth in exchange for future considerations. As part of the trade, the Oilers say the Mammoth will retain $800,000 of Ingram’s $1.95 million cap hit.

Ingram was placed on waivers Thursday (Sept. 25) and went unclaimed. Mammoth general manager Bill Armstrong had said Ingram wouldn’t attend the team’s training camp as they attempted to find the goaltender a new team to play for.

The 28-year-old Ingram posted an 0.882 save percentage, 3.27 goals against average and 9-8-4 record in 22 games with the Mammoth in the 2024-25 National Hockey League (NHL) season.

The Oilers say Ingram will report to their American Hockey League affiliate Bakersfield Condors.

Ingram re-entered the NHL/NHL Players Association assistance program in March 2025, saying he had not been himself since his mother passed away from breast cancer in 2024. Ingram also spent time in the program in 2021 when he was with the Nashville Predators. He has since spoken publicly about his undiagnosed obsessive-compulsive disorder that led him to drink alcohol to cope with anxiety that led him into the program.

Ingram is one year removed from playing 50 games for the Arizona Coyotes in the 2023-24 season where he posted six shutouts along with a 0.907 save percentage, 2.91 goals against average and 23-21-3 record. He won the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy in 2024 for perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.

Ingram played 168 games for the Blazers over three seasons from 2014 to 2017. He won 81 games and posted 12 shutouts.
