Last call for early bird tickets as BrewLoops festival returns to McArthur Island in October

KAMLOOPS — Another edition of the BrewLoops festival is set to take over McArthur Island in a little over a months time, and there isn’t much time left to get early bird tickets.

Organizer Tyson Andrykew says the two-day festival on Oct. 3 and 4 is a celebration of Kamloops culture, creativity, and community. It will feature a number of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options as well as food and live music.

Speaking on CFJC Midday, Andrykew said this year’s festival will be very similar to last year’s event that was held on the disc golf course on McArthur Island.

“It was a great event last year,” he said. “I would say by far we got the most positive comments that we’ve had out of any of our events and so we are replicating it in that space.”

“There’s going to be a few changes to the layout but I think the reason why it received such rave reviews is you’re in a park and you’re on grass, and so it was a nice environment to be in.”

Andrykew said the event this year will feature six DJs and seven bands playing on two stages – a main stage as well as the hugely popular DJ stage or “rave” stage from last year.

“It was set in this foresty-grove type of environment and you had to walk through a temporary bridge that GK Sound had set up,” Andrykew added. “You could kind of see it and hear all the activity but you couldn’t really appreciate it until you got right up to it.”

“It seemed to transport people to another place.”

In addition to the music, Andrykew said the ferris wheel – which has been missing from the past few BrewLoops events – will be coming back. There will be over 30 beverage vendors, about 10 food trucks and a night market featuring vendors from across the province.

“We’ve got early bird pricing until the end of the day on Sept. 1, so you have just a few days left,” Andrykew said. “We’re trying to encourage people to do that so that they get a bit of a break before it goes up to regular pricing until we sell out or until the day of the event.”

Early bird tickets are $54.55 while regular tickets are $65.05 for single day admission. Both include a drink voucher. Two-day festival passes are $108.26 if bought by Sept. 1 and $119.18 after. Festival pass holders also get one drink voucher per day.

Additional drink tickets can be bought in advance or during the event.
