KAMLOOPS — Vantage Airport Group has announced a change in senior leadership at Kamloops Airport (YKA), effective immediately.

Ed Ratuski, who has been Managing Director at YKA since 2019, is moving to another leadership role at Hamilton’s John C. Munro International Airport, where he will serve as the Executive Managing Director.

Ratuski will be replaced by Jim Moroz, who had been serving as YKA’s Manager of Airport Facilities and Safety. The Kamloops native was responsible for developing and delivering YKA’s capital program while managing its aircraft rescue and firefighting operation.

“We sincerely thank Ed for his many years of service to Kamloops Airport and the community,” Kamloops Airport Authority Society President Bill Sarai said in a statement.

“Ed has been a key driver in actioning development initiatives on airport lands and working to enhance new air services while ensuring exceptional experiences for all passengers travelling through the airport. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

In the same statement, Moroz, who joined the team at Kamloops Airport in 2013, said he is “delighted” to step into his new role.

“I look forward to continuing to deliver a safe, efficient, and enjoyable experience for all passengers, and serving our community as a regional connector and jobs creator,” Moroz said.

A spokesperson for Vantage Airport Group told CFJC Today that Ratuski will start his new role in Hamilton on Monday. Ratuski has worked for Vantage Group for 17 years, and previously held leadership roles in Cyprus, and at both LaGuardia Terminal B and JFK Terminal 7 in New York City.

He was also airport operations manager at Fulton Field from 2010 to 2016.

“I extend my thanks to the team here at Kamloops Airport, the Society, and the Kamloops community for making my time here as Managing Director so rewarding, Ratuski said. “I look forward to this new opportunity in Hamilton and wish Jim the very best in his new role.”

The Vantage Airport Group manages the operations at Fulton Field through Kamloops Airport Ltd., which has a long-term lease with the Kamloops Airport Authority Society. Last November, that lease was extended to 2062 to provide more stability following a massive rezoning in earlier in the year.

“It positions Kamloops Airport for continued development and growth, including new air services, land development initiatives, community engagement, and an exceptional experience for all passengers traveling through the airport,” a Vantage spokesperson said.

“Under Jim’s leadership and with the support of the Kamloops Airport Authority Society, YKA will continue to be an important travel hub for leisure and business and an economic engine for the city of Kamloops and the Thompson-Nicola.”
