CSRD to survey Shuswap, Falkland residents on proposed road rescue service
SALMON ARM, B.C. — The Columbia Shuswap Regional District will ask residents of the Shuswap and Falkland areas for their opinions on launching a new road rescue service.
The CSRD says its board has approved a public assent process around road rescue for Electoral Areas ‘C’ and ‘G’ — which encompass Sorrento, Blind Bay and Eagle Bay — as well as the North Shuswap and Falkland fire service areas.
If it is approved, a new service would be provided by existing fire departments in those areas.
While a referendum has already been approved, CSRD staff say they will explore whether the cheaper option of an alternative approval process (AAP) would be workable.
