KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops man will serve nearly five years in jail for his involvement in an armed robbery in Sahali.

In Kamloops Law Courts on May 17, Tristan Bris Fernandez pleaded guilty to one count of robbery and one count of possession of stolen property stemming from an armed robbery on the 1200-block of Summit Drive on June 8, 2021, where one woman was stabbed.

While given a sentence of 1,825 days, B.C.’s Court Services Online (CSO) shows Fernandez only has to serve 602 days in jail as of May 17, being credited for serving 1,223 days – time-and-a-half of 850 days in jail.

Meantime, CSO shows a bench warrant is out for Douglas Paul Tresierra – Fernandez’s co-accused – after he failed to appear for his trial on April 29. Documents show he intended to plead guilty on July 6, 2023.
